T Coronae Borealis, or T CrB, is a binary star system set to explode in a spectacular nova. Located 3,000 light-years from Earth, T CrB usually remains too dim to see but will soon shine as brightly as Polaris. This rare event, expected by September 2024, offers a unique stargazing opportunity. The star system, comprising a white dwarf and a red giant, undergoes a nova every 80 years. The nova will be visible for less than a week and is anticipated to reach a magnitude of +2. Astronomers are eager to study this event closely using various telescopes.
