Edit kill the messenger

RNA editing could be the future of disease treatment, offering a safer alternative to CRISPR and DNA-based therapies. This technique, which edits the RNA blueprints for proteins, is showing promise in treating genetic conditions like Rett syndrome and others. It doesn’t permanently alter DNA, making it less risky while still targeting the root causes of diseases. Major breakthroughs, like boosting protein production in patients with genetic diseases, suggest RNA editing is on the verge of transforming medicine. With several biotech companies already testing treatments, RNA editing might soon be a game-changer in health care.
