We are a group based in the City of Calgary that aims to be a safe and supportive secular community dedicated to serving society; to support those who have been marginalized or traumatized as a result of faith-based beliefs, and to provide and promote evidence-based learning opportunities.
We want to nurture secularism, skepticism and community, promoting Humanism as an alternative to religious and faith-based systems.

The Five Intentions outline a framework for living with integrity, curiosity, and compassion: a commitment to continuous self-improvement in all dimensions of life; a transparent and open-minded embrace of diverse perspectives while avoiding dogmatic certainty; a dedication to critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning; an ethical pursuit of happiness that maximizes freedom while minimizing harm; and a conscious effort to give and receive love, fostering a kind and respectful community. The Board of the Rocky Mountain Atheists meets once a month on the third Friday for an hour. We meet ahead of Skeptics in the Pub. All are welcome to join in our discussions as we work to grow RMA into a thriving and caring community. However, only Board Members can vote. But you CAN join the Board!

We started presenting monthly topics in 2018, and many members of our community have either presented or suggested great topics. There is plenty of time to mingle and meet other atheists, humanists, skeptics, and overall great people.

Curious about pickleball but haven’t tried it yet? Here’s your chance - we will have extra paddles for those who don’t have one. Or enjoy it and want to play outdoors on some beautiful courts? They are located at the site of the old Volleydome south of U of C in the Foothills Athletic Park.
Cost is $4, which allows us to book courts ahead of time and gives us 2 hours to play (9 am to 11 am). Parking beside the courts is free. Please bring extra paddles if you have them.
