Maximize Speaking Skills
Your voice is your power! Do you know how to maximize your speaking skills to ensure your message is heard? Engaging your audience effectively helps your message resonate beyond the room.
Toastmasters is a public speaking and leadership organization. Freethought Toastmasters, loosely affiliated with Minnesota Atheists, supports free speech and the separation of church and state. All topics are welcome, as long as they align with the Toastmasters commitment to a respectful, positive environment.
The club meets on the first and third Monday of each month at 6:30 PM Central Time Zone, with members gathering for a meal beforehand. Attend in person or via Zoom to practice, receive feedback, and join lively discussions. Many members use the group to refine real-world speeches—wedding toasts, work presentations, interviews, and more.
A highlight is the round-robin discussion, where each member practices impromptu speaking within a time limit, ensuring balanced participation. Recent meetings have tackled controversial topics in a respectful manner, helping members sharpen their communication skills.

Life Without Religion – Online

Thursday, April 3
First Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm MDT
Live Without Religion (LWR) is a peer support group for people whose lives have been negatively impacted by religion. Nearly anyone who has left a fundamentalist or high-control religion can tell you that it leaves not only scars but sometimes open wounds. Nothing helps with the healing better than sharing your experience and discussing how to heal with others who have had a similar experience. That mutual support is what we find in LWR meetings. If you want to learn more about LWR, contact Lois at loislwr@gmail.com.
Book Club

Thursday, April 10
Second Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm MST
This month, the Book Club will be discussing the book The code breaker: Jennifer Doudna, Gene editing, and the Future of the Human Race, by Walter Isaacson.
Head over to our Meetup page to register and get the Zoom link.
Coffee Chat Online

Monday, April 14
Second Monday of every month at 1:00 pm MDT
Our Coffee Chat is an enjoyable, unstructured, afternoon conversation. Anyone can introduce an idea or ask a question and the group will jump in and discuss it. You never know where the conversation will go but it is always interesting and sometimes even educational. Join us and add your two-cents-worth.

WeCanReason Webinar (recording

Wednesday, April 16 at 12:00 pm (noon) MDT
Influenza: from the Spanish lady to the winter sniffle with David Miles
In 1918, an influenza pandemic killed more people than the First World War. The disease was called the Spanish Lady, among many other names, because nobody had more than a vague idea of what caused it. The Spanish Lady’s descendants are still with us, causing the annual ‘winter flu’ that empties workplaces, filling hospitals and stuffing noses.
This event will be recorded with an audience on April 16 and broadcast on April 23. You can be present at both, but only on April 16 there will be a Q&A.
Head over to our Meetup Page, to register and get the Zoom link.

Come to the pub, meet like-minded people and have thought-provoking discussions, along with a drink and some food. You can register on our Meetup Page.
